The Keeper takes it to the candlelit bench, weighs it against the Quadrifletch Codex the catalogs burned, and pronounces its standing before the fourth feather. The Guild has certified one archer who never missed and one houseplant that never shot, and stands by both. Enrollment closes Sunday. It always has.

Master Cal “Gauge” Hawthorne, retired aerospace, treats vane alignment as flight-critical tolerance and labels his glue like a controlled substance. Both outrank you. Both are correct.

    Sister Elowen Rootbinder fletches under starlight and holds the fourth feather is not an upgrade but an ear. Brother Helical, Warden of the True Twist, guards the sacred two-and-a-half to three degrees and has corrected four heresies this quarter. The grass and the protractor agree. They always do.

The order exiles only one thing — the Fifth Feather, and the hubris that reaches for it — and Racks has never once reached.
