The Heresies
What The Order Will Not Permit
Three feathers is not a heresy. It is a loss, and a loss can be restored. These are the true heresies:
- The Fifth Feather — hubris. The infinite-fletch arrow is pure drag and has never left the bow.
- The Straight Clamp — a tolerated weakness, corrected at the bench, never a faith.
- Saying it does not matter — the position of those who never asked who removed it.
- Demanding the data while withholding your own — we have submitted ours, and waited.
The three-feather standard, struck through. Not a sin — a subtraction.
The Inducted
They Took The Oath
The group on paper did not get smaller. Something else did, something the paper does not measure, and I have stopped pretending the paper is the only instrument that counts.
Within a week I gave up my range job to teach the fourth feather to anyone who would listen. No one pays me to say this. I say it because someone has to, and the certifications never will.
I was received by the Guild and certified to the standard. I have never drawn a bow. I have never failed an inspection. I uphold the standard precisely as it was written, which is more than the industry can say.
Enrollment Closes Sunday.
It reopens Monday. This has been the rhythm of the order since 2019. Enter when you are ready; the feather will wait.
